    As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Saotome Shihan bringing his Aikido to the U.S., we reflect on moments like this—Saotome Sensei quietly observing an afternoon keiko on the beautiful shores of St. Pete Beach during our Winter Intensive.

    The beach classes are always a highlight, offering a unique opportunity to train in an open, natural setting. Practicing with the sound of the waves and the feel of the sand underfoot brings a different kind of focus, reminding us of Aikido’s connection to balance and nature.

    Saotome Sensei’s presence, his watchful eye, and his wisdom inspire every student on and off the mat. This year, as we honor five decades of his dedication, teaching, and vision, we’ll share more snapshots of his incredible journey and the legacy he’s built.

    Sensei Vitold Jordan has spent many years devoted himself to training in the samurai martial arts, spirituality, and counseling, and has attained a certain level of expertise to qualify him as teacher and also mentor.
