    Well, the name of my latest album (Red) came about, because one of my favourite songs is titled that and it talks about a relationship spiralling out of control. A relationship where it’s harmful and thrilling and unhealthy, all at the same time.When I was putting the album together, I realised that it held so many emotions, all the intensity that comes with love, infatuation, anger, sadness and visually, I see these emotions as an angry red color. So it just made sense to call this album what I eventually did.
    Your biggest hits are break-up anthems. What gives?
    The songwriting process really helps me to reflect on things, especially relationships. Sometimes when I’m writing a song, I’ll realise something that I probably wouldn’t have otherwise. Also I guess at this age you’re learning about love and falling in and out of it and all your feelings are so intense. I think my songs are popular because they really hit home with so many teenagers who are dealing with the same thing. Everyone goes through break-ups, it’s something that people can really connect to.
